LEGO produced Lord of the Rings sets from 2012 until 2013 along with the Hobbit trilogy. In today's blog im introducing set 9470 - Shelob Attacks from 2012. This set contains 227 pieces and 3 minifigures. Is it worth the purchase, these days?
You can see the set on the box very clearly. On the back of the box you can see the play features of this set. We also get one instruction book, which is easy to understand. There're no stickers included in this set.
The set is very easy to build. The set should be done after 30 minutes. At the end you get a small selection of extra pieces.
There're 3 minifigures included in this set: Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee and Gollum. The torso and head on both Hobbits are printed on both sides. Gollum is made out of three pieces. The arms have been moulded especially to this character and look similar to battle droid arms from the Star Wars universe. The selection of minifigures is well done.
The set offers a good playability. There's a rock, where Gollum can hide and there's a ring which only exists in gold.
The giant spider Shelob looks very scary. The legs of the creature can be moved. On top of it, you can pull out a string, which looks like a cobweb.
I think, the set has been well made. The spider is looks very scary. It would be nice to see more LEGO Lord of the Rings sets in the future.
